About Matthews International
The roots of Matthews International go back to 1972. The company started life as a Great Yarmouth based dock Transport Company. Then in 1978 the oil and gas transport business opened, supporting many leading oil and gas exploration businesses, with its first international transport operation starting.
With the international transport flourishing new opportunities opened with refrigerated cargo of fish from Great Yarmouth into Europe.
The business has grown to support three operating divisions - International, General Haulage and Container transport.
Matthews International is recognized as being among the leading privately owned haulage businesses in the UK. The combined knowledge and expertise within the freight transport and logistics industries are unparalleled.
While our head office resides in Great Yarmouth, close to where the business was first established, our operations are now based strategically at Norwich, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds and Doncaster.
Matthews is now firmly established and ready for further growth.
